Academy Award Winner Kathy Bates is Harriet “Harry” Korn, the main character of the American legal comedy-drama TV series from the Emmy Award winning creator of Ally McBeal and Boston Legal, David E. Kelley. Harry is a successful patent lawyer, but was just recently fired on the law firm she was working on. Apparently, she got bored with her job, so she set up her own practice and used a rundown shoe store in Cincinnati for her office.
With a stellar cast and show created by an award winning writer, there is no doubt that Harry’s Law is much anticipated. NBC management has decided to do away with their two season old courtroom drama “Harry’s Law.” The series, which features Kathy Bates as lawyer, has not been doing well recently. Even before the news came out, it was evident that the show will lose out on a third installment. Creator David E Kelley had expressed his fear that the show is losing out on committed viewers, and has not been able to consolidate a position in young viewer’s mind. He joked that it has become a show “for old people,” and young viewers are not interested in the series.
NBC is currently on an axing spree, and has axed a majority of its prime-time shows. It had recently cancelled Awake, Are You There Chelsea? Best Friends Forever and Bent. It has also given the ‘go ahead’ signal for many new shows like Next Caller, Guys with Kids, Save Me, and Animal Practice, etc. along with a second term for comedies ‘Whitney, up all night and Parks and Recreation.’
